A retracing…
Following on from our world première production of Alice Munro’s The View from Castle Rock during Edinburgh International Book Festival, we took the show on tour to the Scottish Borders, where the writer’s ancestors lived before sailing to find a new life in Canada. There were four sell-out performances on consecutive nights from 31 August to 3 September in venues in Peebles, Hawick, Kirkhope in the Ettrick Valley, and Galashiels.
The production was presented with Stellar Quines, an award-winning theatre company which celebrates the energy, experience and perspective of women. Acclaimed director Marilyn Imrie and multi award-winning playwright Linda McLean created, in this word-for-word adaptation from Alice Munro’s text, a vibrant drama about the 19th century Scottish migrant experience.
