Jane Murray: Royal Infirmary

Words and laughter, tears and hysterics

chocs and Mint Imperials, and a banana.

Neighbours range from citrus to butter

Purples of various shades

We smile and nod and generally give silent support.

There is a look of a shared knowledge

unspoken kept to ourselves, and that allowed

we do not step over that line.

that relationship with the value of sacred

because we know why we are here.

I want to use the word Bardo, a

Liminal state, we do not know or are ready.

A place where you can relax into the unknown

Time is time and time will always be time

No end there.  There, an unknown time

A place of curiosity for me.

Continual rounds of How are we today?

Pleasantries perpetuate, and why not?

Generosity of actions

Whilst the known and unknown remain

Within the gullet of the psyche.

That window opens bringing back reality

of the freshness out there.

That gentle breeze

blackbirds, play, squabble more likely.

Pussy willows appear, as if from nowhere.

I long for, nothing.

the psyche not going there

I am happy

I think of those and that is the value

And there are many.
