Uniting stories, pictures and music…
The Crocodiamond brought together pupils at Sandaig Primary School in Glasgow with author and illustrator Debi Gliori, a storyteller and four musicians from the Scottish Chamber Orchestra.
The children worked with these artists to create images which would visually tell the story of The Crocodiamond, a tale written by acclaimed children’s author Anthony Horowitz, set to music by innovative composer Jonathan Dove and performed by the SCO at two shows in Edinburgh and Glasgow. Their creations were projected during these public orchestral performances, with the Sandaig pupils attending with their teachers and parents in Glasgow.
Debi wrote a guest blog for our Creative Learning team, giving an artist’s insight in to the process of developing this work with the children. You can read it on our Creative Learning blog, here.
