Busy Ward

Wakened early

Tea and bread and butter

Washing, bed making,

Breakfast – always porridge, extra boiled egg

Doctors visiting, so many, all day long

Lunch at last, 3 courses served by sister

A little nap after lunch, asked for painkillers

Student friends visiting, in sitting room

Chatting with other patients, maybe a joke

Boyfriend visiting out of visiting hours

Relatives visiting in the evening, flowers fruit

Light supper – maybe a roll sent by my mother

Sleep at last, everyone quiet, peace.
