Exercise

23rd September 2022

Up in the morning early,
I’ve been decluttering my flat.
Today 2 bookcases are arriving for my box room.
Exciting.
They fit perfectly.

I heave bags of belongings from the spare bedroom
And place them admiringly on the wooden shelves.
Later it’s time to shop.
My fridge-freezer is almost bare
I trundle my shopping trolley through co-op
Real foods and the coop.

Then there is the ‘real’ exercise.
Away on the bus to Craiglockhart.
I join the ‘strength and balance’ class
Along with other older people
Lifting weights, balancing on one leg.
Standing straight with shoulders rolled back.
Swinging one’s leg forward and back.
One is energised.
