Festivals

23rd September 2022

The sky was blue,
It was very hot.
People bustled about. We were in Pittenweem, at the Arts Festival.
Seagulls screeched. Fishing boats la in the harbour.
It’s an old fishing village in the East Neuk of Fife.
I’d been coming here for 5 or 6 years with a gap during the Pandemic
It was my home from home,
My rest place.
A place which brought me alive.
~
Crowds come together, chatting and laughing
Some in costume, some in their summery attire.
Smells of food drifted here and there
Chips and pizza and coffee.
We were on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh.
A body lay on the cobbled street
Covered by a sheet, with a red stain coming from it.
No, not an accident, not real, but an excerpt of a play by some ‘doctors’
All was revealed, all was here!
