My name is Ian, I am a Human Being.
That was all, and it was enough – until it happened, just as the clock struck midnight.
I suddenly knew – there I was looking down from above on myself, sleeping soundly on my very comfortable bed.
For sure it was my own bed, I could see Edinburgh Castle through my bedroom window, and although I was sound asleep below I was completely wide awake above, and 100% fully aware of who and what I was, and what I was required to do with this life.
I knew at that moment – being Human, and an artist among other things, was hardly even the half of it – and was not the main purpose of my life…
The real reason, and the main purpose of why I am here, is – to gather information…
I now know I am a ‘recorder’ – I experience life and report back.
A living machine, witnessing and remembering everything that happens around me, which I feel and see.
Transmitting all back to central command each night, or day, during my recharge time.
When a particular experience is transmitted back – it is logged, stored and saved.
If that same feeling is transmitted by many of us, I mean really enough of us – millions – at about the same time – it changes our species lifestyle, automatically.
I now understand, there is a name for it, it is called Evolution…
It is revolutionary for the minds and bodies of the human, or any other species population, when it happens…
As living machines, we are required to recharge for about 8 hours per day, uploading to, and downloading from, central command, updating our systems, ensuring no overload, and that a correct balance is maintained.
We have an approximate machine life of 70 years, depending on usage, and chance incidents, such as accidents or infections over which we have no control.
Made from atom particles available on planet earth, and – we are recyclable.
We have been here since the beginning, and started as single cell organisms.
Evolving alongside other species over the centuries to where we are today.
Capable in our life of enjoying relationships and professions, allowing a vast range of experiences which we then report back.
Possibly many other recorders are of different designs – some fly, some swim in the sea, transmitting a vast array of varied experiences.
I do not know, and I know of no one who really knows exactly why we are here,
or who put us here on this planet earth, or what happens when we stop living here.
We are not told – this allows us a variety of theories, including all the many religious ones.
Some believe we may find out when we are recycled.
Others – that we will never know…
I only know now the clarity I experienced as the clock struck midnight
Perhaps we are about to evolve once more…it feels like it could be…
I am in awe…
