Newborn

23rd March 2022

The arc that you traced
across my chest
With the length of your
arm as we lay
at rest
From our breathtaking
Introduction

Skin to skin while everyone slept
To and fro, your finger tips swept
Arm stretched
just shy
Of my tired neck line

Just me and you in our cradling hold
Awake in my arms as
New experiences
unfolded
For both of us

Brand new to all of this
Me and you, all of this
Yawning a new dawn
Sighing first breaths
Together

The furthest apart
We had ever been
This moment
So intimate
Holding tight to it
