Regeneration

23rd September 2022

Where are the people?
An eerie silence across the land
A strange quiet in the sky
Signs of a stricken world weeping
Struggling with a dark invisible threat
Yet listen to the cackle of geese
The cry of a soaring eagle,
See the skirl of squirrels chasing
Dippers diving in icy water
Feel the soft sponge of moss
Taste crystal clear water
Cascade over ancient rock
Cherish the scent of ancient pine
And bloom of spring flowers
Symbols of hope
Seek solace from the land
Embrace solitude and isolation
Engage the senses
Absorb the healing power of nature
Live in harmony with the land
When will the world learn to sing again?

Shona Armstrong.
